Substitution tags help you personalize your message to different customers. One example is where you greet users by their first name

Hey {{first_name}} → And this is automatically populated by the first_name from contacts list

Note: If the substitution tag could not be found for a particular contact, then the email is not sent if for the particular contact. eg. ****If 3 out of 10 contacts do not have the substitution tag as a contact field then the 3 contacts don’t receive the particular email at all while the remaining 7 receive

To view available substitution tags for the selected audience, head over to New campaign/ Edit campaign page & select your audience

Then select the dropdown on top right to view valid substitution tags available for the selected audience

Then use any of the listed substitution tags in the email editor directly

Upon sending the email, the substitution tags would automatically be populated with values for those contacts which contain the fields & the contacts which don’t have the substitution tags, the emails won’t be sent
